Happy Festivus! A Festivus for the Rest of Us!

Although, I am not a supporter of Starbucks, I do love their coffee and products, but haven’t been in one, since I witnessed how they treated a homeless man, but that was one person, not the company, so I stopped in there this evening to make a point and I’m sharing it with you all.

Yes, I had to add some humor to all of this foolishness, so I asked them to add this to my cup Happy Festivus! A Festivus for the Rest of Us! If you don’t get it, google it and watch the clip on youtube and lighten up over the red cup.

I am a proud Catholic and I don’t take offense to the red cups missing whatever they are missing. My Faith is not reflective of a red cup or anyone else’s belief or representation from a product, sale or community being misinformed of the true meaning of Christmas!

Listen I am Giddy over Christmas… And, love me my Santa, Christmas Carols, but I have the true meaning in my heart and soul, not in a red cup. Hopefully this red cup is teaching us all a lesson to remember and embrace the true meaning and how we represent ourselves in a way that makes us proud of our faith, beliefs and ourselves! Faith and Religion is not found in a red cup, Starbucks or any other outside influence that seems to be viral.

Honestly, my only wish for Starbucks is that they would have a blue one for Hanukkah, a pink one for breast cancer, blue for child abuse, black and blue for crime survivors, puzzle for autism, periwinkle for eating disorders and you get the idea. Maybe they could even offer nonprofits throughout this Nation an opportunity to have a month or even a week or a day with their very own cup to raise awareness and monies for community support! Hmmm… Or, would that also cause some outrage, possibly jealousy!

Look at Christmas in a new way this year. This is the year to invite Jesus into your heart. You will then have a “Merry Christmas.” The joy and peace you will receive will last all year as you look to God for all your needs to be met, and not reflective of a red cup or that of Starbucks.

With Faith, there is Hope…
