What an embarrassment – I tuned in the other day to the morning show, The View, and Whoopi Goldberg was saying there was a lot of stuff going on with Bill Cosby and the recent disclosure of a previously sealed deposition of his admitting under oath that he intended to use the powerful hypnotic sedatives, Quaaludes, (Methaqualone) for the purposes of having sex with women.

His admission in a sworn deposition was a validation – if nothing else – for all of the accusers that have been coming out for over a decade. Many of them have been called liars and their reputations tarnished.

It was pathetic because none of the women on the show, with the possible exception of Rosie O’Donnell, said anything meaningful. They talked in circles. Meaningless babble.  Rosie Perez, the show’s co-host was so horrible that she quit the next day.

Whoopi said she didn’t want to make any ‘snap decisions’. Really? Snap decisions?

The women that have come forward accusing Bill Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting and/or raping them, have been coming out for years. There’s a total of 39 women that have come forward. Now add to this his own admission from the deposition with one of his accusers that was settled out of court.

I would have a lot more respect for Whoopi if she had come out and said something like, “Bill Cosby is a personal friend of mine and I’d like to reserve any comment on the subject”, or words to that effect.

Listen, I was a huge fan of his and I’m on record as saying I don’t want Bill Cosby to be guilty of these allegations; I don’t want him to be guilty, but I believe he is. He is certainly guilty in the court of public opinion, and even his attorneys say that he has really big problems going forward.

If it was one woman that came forward without any evidence – okay, it’s a he said/she said; but 39 different women with very similar stories, mostly White and African American, with nothing to gain monetarily, no book deals, – so in my opinion, there’s nothing ‘snap’ about it.

As to The View, it was very disappointing to say the least. The show has almost always had intelligent discourse, good humor, wit and good natured banter. What I witnessed on that show, that morning, was a far cry from that.

With Faith, there is Hope.
