Well, basically for the same reason I do the 501c3 work and a weekly radio show: to promote a healthy, constructive dialog and foster a sense of community. I understand that there are others who feel they are in the dark and can’t find their way. I want to reach out to those people too.
Many of the topics we will cover have to do with family, career, faith, life, raising children, etc. For those of you who are suffering quietly and alone, please know that:
a) You are not alone, and
b) Talking about it has tremendous healing power
By providing an open forum such as a blog, my hope is that many of you will join us and contribute positive ideas and do so openly and freely. We invite you to speak passionately and forthrightly and to share your stories and your personal insights. If you’ve suffered hardships or tragedies, we want to hear from you and know how you were able to transcend these hurdles and keep on going.
None of us is as smart as all of us . . .
Our purpose with the blog is to give individuals a voice and to empower them with the collective wisdom of the many. Recently I came across an interesting quote, “None of us is as smart as all of us.” The collective wisdom of the many has the wisdom of many lifetimes, not just one. We believe that by sharing your feelings and experiences with others – openly, honestly and anonymously – we all gain. As stated in other parts of the blog, I’m still working on both weight and self image problems as I try to draw the latest information from the best sources. Sometimes the best sources are from those who have personally experienced it.
It Takes a Village . . .
My purpose and passion for the past dozen years has always been as a facilitator/organizer – nothing more, nothing less. I realized early on that working alone, I can accomplish very little. So I brought together different groups and segments of society to promote intelligent dialog, safer communities, healthier eating options, award individuals for valorous actions, and empower those who have been afflicted by personal tragedy. I believe in partnering with other organizations, often sitting on their Boards, to accomplish goals with half the effort in half the time. I’ve spoken on women’s and religious topics at high schools, civic centers, and other venues. And, I started a weekly radio show, Coffee Talk with Patricia to hear your comments on the daily struggles of life.
It’s the same with a Blog; it takes a village. We welcome your input.
So please join us on our blog and feel free to express your feelings, emotions, thoughts and ideas. Be open, be honest and remember, with Faith there is Hope. I look forward to hearing from you.
